Minor structural changes like this i think would make all the deference to these boats in the real world. But from a practical standpoint, i think its such a gradual slope of a cruve it might be real hard to render and not have it become exaggerated to view anyway. Just a guess, im no graphical artist.

Yup, your right

Just a quick note about the curved bulkheads in the Type 7's control room. They were curved slightly, becasue these two bulkheads were the only 'pressure tight' bulkheads on the boat. The 3 other bulkheads were only water tight, and this can be seen by the fact that these bulkheads (between the forward battery compartment and the bow room, between the after battery compartment and the diesel engine room and between the diesel engine room and the electric motor room) are 1. 'straight' i.e vertical and 2. have large rectangular hatches. The two curved bulkheads at either end of the control room have small circular hatches, to better resist water pressure. Up till recently pressure tight bulkheads have often been slighlty curved (it gives greater strength without needing the heavy reinforcement and scantlings a straight bulkhead would require). Soviet SSK designs up to the Kilo had curved pressure tight bulkheads AFAIK.

Perdu, IE says link not valid for the video. It could be just me tho.

Ducimus, Letum.... I forgot about being able to change the file names so they'll work with other boats interiors. Sorry about that.

Looking at all the pictures posted, as compared to whats ingame, anyone else notice that, with the exception of the XXI control room, the lack of periscope wells in the default interiors? At the least, in reguards to the type 7. I think the type 9 interior has one, but its rather small.

For some fine info about this sub, you might want to contact some indie developers your self, they both have been trying to make a VIIC sim.
I'm sure they have tons of info that you will find usefull.

Hi Letum,

If you're still looking for a cross section plan for the Type VIIC, see if this is what you need.

Type VIIC (1944)

Here's the link if the pic above didn't show
http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/316...section4kg.jpg

This was just a quick photo I shot with my digital camera so the quality is low just for display only. If you need it, I can scan it and post a link.

I have a few more plans for the Type VIIC (1944).

Happy modelling!
:arrgh!:
