Do I detect Jealousy Kiwi Zero Six?
After all what would NZ know about ASW and subs. With 2 baseline Anzac class "frigates" (really just oversized corvettes), 5 Seasprite helicopters (impressive :-j ), and outdated P-3..K.. Orions (gotta love that retro charm), a sub wouldn't even have to submerge to go up and win against that crummy lot. Collins class rule. None of your oh-so-funny jokes will change that. XabbaRus, yes in all seriousness England did deserve the Ashes. But Australia are still the best in the world, and we are better than the world as seen in our crushing defeat of the WorldXI in 3 one dayers and in the super test. And leaking? Is that anything like what happens when one of your subs runs into the ocean floor, or when your reactors break down leaving your subs stuck in Gibraltar for months on end? :-j |

Aussies do the double against the Dutch hockey team!
Thanks for rubbing it in, Konovalov & Co.!
:hulk: |
Diver, you are, quite honestly, a King Size Richard of the first order.
Did you misplace your sense of humour, or just never have one at all? |
*Additional generic Kiwi insult* :P ;)

Cmon, let's not turn this thread into a trans-tasman bagging contest
There's enough of them over here and I'm sure enough of our tourists over there :rotfl: Lets' get back on topic and back to baggin the dutch :P  :sunny: |

Well, the Dutch men's hockey team may not be the best of the world anymore, our women have beaten the living daylight out of the German women's team. And our hockey men are actually only on a rotating schedule with the Dutch football team, that will establish itself as the # 1 team next summer by beating Argentina in the opening match, Britain in the quarter finals, Germany in the semi finals and then of course that sensational final against Brazil! (I hope) :D |

The Collins calss submarines are no joke. And "humour" such as yours has led to a serious crew shortage. Nobody wants to be recruited to submarines because the view or common "fact" amongst the average joes is that the collins class submarines are unsafe. We never had crew problems with the oberons and sailors were much worse off in them. Stupid innappropriate and irrelevant "jokes" like that are major contributers to the problem, and it is a big one. The Aussie public need to have confidence in our boats and our men, and need to know that they have recieved value for money. When Aussie Submariners get abused in pubs because of stupid myths put out by the media and carrier on by w@nkers like yourself it has come to the point where no more can be tolerated. Go be of some use, rather than contribute to a serious problem, and by the comments you made you are contibuting, even if only in a small way. Find a REAL sense of humour, I've got one, but i have no time for idiocy. |
Aussies do the double against the Dutch hockey team!
@ Kiwi Zero Six & Diver:
C'mon mates, no personal offenses allowed on this forum. We're just a day or two past Christmas and I'm sure you're still in the mood, so cut the inappropriated stuff and make your point without insulting each other! (No exeptions for Aussies and/or Kiwi's) Abraham (with his moderator cap on!) |

These days thankfully we get to play on water based synthetic instead of the sand based artificial grass surface that you commonly find on tennis courts. At least back in Sydney we played almost exclusively on water based synthetic. The surface is better, more true, and is condusive to a more attractive and entertaining game of hockey. Also for me it means no more nasty abrasion skin injuries as a result of the rough sand based surface. That stuff would take your skin off if you were decked (hit the ground) or slid on it. Now days thankfully you just get a little "carpet burn" if that. |

Thanks for the info, Konovalov. My knowledge didn't get any further than knowing it was not grass that hockey is played on...
|
Water based fields are nice on the knees if they are properly maintained, but with water restrictions in force clubs have had to cut back on the amount of water they use, last time i played the ground was in very bad, dry, condition. I would have rather played on sand based than on that sorry excuse for water based.
