I'm not sure about gun strength, but there are some stand alone mods that just let you reset the reload times without having to have SH3 Commander if you don't want that whole package/app (I'd love to be using it but for some reason the last version gave me a bad case of CTDs - I'm hoping the next version comes out soon so I can try again).

Here is the text of the readme file from one of these mods, which lets you choose from several reload times (I use the 20 sec version myself - I figure my well-trained crew should be able to get two or three hits a minute, and it's also about as long as I can stand to go without using TC, which would sort of spoil the moment if you know what I mean) - you can find this mod over at http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ along with a bunch of other cool ones:


This is The Deck Gun Reload Times mod by CCIP - repacked for use with JSGME Mod Enabler
Original files and readme are included untouched

Simply unzip the archive to the SilentHunterIII\MODS folder and run JSGME
You should have 8 new mods available, each for a different reload time
Or unzip to a temporary folder and just copy the versions you want into SilentHunterIII\MODS

Well I've got SH3 Commander, so the reload times aren't a problem, only the damage it does. Guess I'll dig through those files and see if I can find the damage line unless someone knows offhand which file it's in. I'm not in a big hurry at the moment though, as I'll be in a IIA for a bit with no deck gun.

Hehe, I remember my first ever convoy I encountered. There was no escorts. I surfaced in the middle of the convoy and started blasting with my deck gun. This was waaaay back in 1.0. Sure, it was fun, but then a tanker rammed me. :rotfl:

I don't think SH Cmdr messes with the lethality of the shells just the reload time.
