Hey Moose, the Go to Sonar thing still exists. Another member of the community and I have been posting about it over on the SCS forum. He was going to try playing with the "accuracy" sliders in VR setup to see if that helps. Haven't heard back yet but it sounded promising. Another thing you should note about VOIP stuff. I was tearing my hair out trying to use both Ventrillo or Team Speak and DW voice command at the same time. Voice command would stop working almost entirely. Usually about the same time I started screaming "Launch active decoy Deep, Right full rudder, All ahead Flank!" :rotfl: The programs conflict over who has control of the microphone. I fixed this by using two separate mikes. One for DW and one for Ventrillo. And for what it's worth I always use push to talk when using voice command.

Voice Commands Did a search on this topic and learned thing

Thanks Driftwood and Lonewolf:

I tried doing a search and read about this problem. Seems that before the last three patchs people were having this same problem. It may be something to do with MS Speech Software. I am going to setup DW to only Accept Voice Commands when I push a "push to talk button". I think that will help. I was leaving the voice mic open all the time and if I talked to my self I found that it was training the speech program still.

Also there is a check box on the MS Speech Training advanced settings somewhere that if checked will tell the program to train your voice recognition while you are using the mic. Not sure if you all know where that button is or how it works. I am thinking that I may need to turn that off. Especially if I leave the mic on in DW. It may be hearing me breath or cough and retraining the voice recognition software while I am playing DW. Wish I could show a screen shot of that page from my computer in here. Goto the Speech Recognition Tab and then click on the Settings Button. Now look down at the bottom left hand side of the screen that pops up. There is a check box that can be use to have the program adapt to the background noise while in use.

Do you all check or uncheck that check box?

I am going to move the top slider to the right a bit to see if that helps clear up the Goto Sonar Screen Voice Recog Problem.

We're sort of at the mercy of Microsoft with this one, guys.

I'll take a look into the potential for some strangeness with that particular command in code (perhaps it's sharing a duplicate ID with another command and it's being thrown out altogether by the game when recognized) but I'm not sure there's anything we can do otherwise... :-?

Maybe there is something on the Microsoft FAQ or the MS Web site for technical issues that I can research. Right now I am just going to retrain a few more times and uncheck the adapt to the background noice check box on the Setting page for MS Voice Recognition Software.

I'll see if that helps. I am also going to move the top slider to the right in the setting tab Dialog Box.

Thanks Jamie! You're the best! I KNOW you've got much bigger fish to fry right now. ;) We will keep chipping away at this too and will post any revelations we come across.

I did some more testing. I did notice something that helped. When the Goto Sonar Voice command failed numerous times I would use the mouse to click on the sonar display from the main menu item. Once at the Sonar screen I clicked on the Narrow Band screen display. Then all of a sudden the Voice Command Goto Sonar worked again. I could go to all the stations with each using voice commands.

But when I went back to the broadband screen the Voice Command Goto Sonar screen was the Only voice command that failed me.

I then manually went to the sonar screen and went to the Demon screen. Voice Command's all worked propertly once again. I could go to the nave screen then to the sonar screen and back and forth with ease.

I then while in sonar screen swithed back to the broadband display and the voice command Goto sonar screen started to fail again.

I would like to see if anyone else can repeat this for me. Thanks in advance.

Bottom line. When the sonar screen is using the broadband display the Goto Sonar Voice Command fails after a while.

When I first started the game and gave it the voice commands they all worked for about 5 minute or so. I mean I gave it ever voice command to change to different stations. Then when I gave my first voice command to change speed the GoTo Sonar screen voice command started failing. It was after this that I did the testing above.

I had my Voice Recognition Microsoft Speech Recognition Software SETUP screen at the Default settings. during all the testing above.

The only time I got the problem was when the sonar screen was using the Broadband display screen. When I used the Narrow Band display and the Demon Display on the sonar screen the voice commands all worked right.
