For certain. The USS Wake PR-3, quite possibly the most captured ship in history.

It's interesting, somewhat, that with two examples now of Allied warships in Imperial service, both examples survived the war, which is not something many Nippon-built ships of the time could say.

The gunboat Wake as mentioned captured at Shanghai. The gunboat Luzon captured at Corregidor. The American patrol boat Finch sunk at Manila by Japanese Army gunfire and later raised. The old US tug Genesee scuttled at Corregidor and later refloated by the Japanese for use as a patrol vessel. The Portuguese gunboat Macau captured--where else--Macau.

There were a number of former Dutch vessels taken over by the IJN, the destroyer Banckert captured at Soerabaja among them. The Japanese being short on proper escorts were pretty adept at putting anything to use.

Yep, escorts are defensive in nature and of no real use to a proper navy... gee where have I heard that one before... :haha:

...

(for those who don't know I'm making fun of our British friends...)

And on another note, let's not forget the USS Pueblo, still in commission, and still in the hands of the DPRK.
