I had a campaign rolling into 1941 in a IIA. In fact on my 3rd mission I sank 1 T-2 and 3 C-2's. :|\
Got killed by a V&W off the eastern coast of england when I was trying to sneak into Southend. |
but you have to be really selective what you want to sink with only 5 torps and only 2 tubes
i am not a 100% realism fanatic.but ihave allways felt that you have to shoot what targets you find.i am no history expert but i have not read many real life accounts of sub captains passing up small targets for big.if possible i use my guns to try to save torps, which i've read sub skippers doing.i think the idea of staying with the smaller sub is agreat idea and will try it in the future but i would not be able to pass up that coastal merchant to wait for a t3.that just would'nt seem right. |

Having some bad weather there?
We're up to patrol 23 in U-143, I'm now a Kaptainluetenant :) . Unfortunatly our WO was killed recently and now no one else on board has an award higher than a u-boat badge :( I'm not sure if you will get it, but in late '42 I got an upgraded IID conning tower (I didn't know there even was one :o ), it's great, now we all fit on deck comfortably. I finaly painted my boat too(modified from Seans Camo IID skin) http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/5716/iid26zu.jpg shortly after this shot was taken i was sitting on the bottom of the sea trying to get all the water out :88) . I ended that patrol with 0 tons after losing both scopes and radio. |
:) Hello all, Yes I enjoy the Type II sub as she is quite stealthy....but with only 3 tubes upfront and limited reloads, it is quite challenging. There are a number of historical multiplayer missions available for the Type II sub at Wolfpack League that you can download. Although the missions are limited to 2 players, they are quite challenging and fun. Good Hunting, Erich Topp U-552
