Thanks Torplex, I got it now. I did have a full compliment in there, but I had silent running on, I then removed silent running, but by the time I did that, I had less than what it seems to require to load torpedoes.

What's interesting is that on my voyage to Argentina, I had no crew fatigue, but as I was half way back to port, all my crew started to fatigue out so that I couldn't even run my engines continuously. Some would recover after a few minutes in quarters, then some would not after days. It became so frustrating, I just returned to base and started over.

I hate having to tell my crew when they are tired and need moving - tis what my officers are for to rotate watches - so I use SH3commander with no fatigue

Yes, I do also use Commander with the no fatigue model checked off. But still, I have this problem. I also have the Begin Mission at Sea option checked, and still my missions start in port.

Also remember to staff the appropriate compartment! I just started creating a new thread here after being unable to load the aft reserve eel on my VIIB, and began listing the things I tried. Torp compartment staffed? Check! Oh wait... WRONG ONE. :rotfl2:

when accidently unchecking the "automatically... " in the shown dialog box, nothing will be reloaded in the next 100 years or so

press "i" on the keyboard to find out

Glad I did too - else I'd have started yet another &%$# thread on the subject!

Sailor Steve 05-31-11 12:42 AM

Oh, bringing up an old thread doesn't really bother, it's the answering of a year-old post as if it were made yesterday that gives such a shock, especially when the guy who made it hasn't been around in almost that whole year. :sunny:

To be honest, I only read the date of the post above me. But I read the whole thread. Really trying hard to solve the serious problem :haha:

But, to bring this to an end now, I guess everything is said here to solve all the future problems where torps not reloading are concerned, right ? :O:

:DL Sometimes I'll start reading one of these and start thinking about what I want to post, only to find I already posted there, long long ago. :damn: :dead::rotfl2:

So what did you find? I always keep 'Auto-Reload' turned off, because in real life they didn't reload during an attack, due to the possibility of a torpedo breaking loose because of a steep dive angle. They would fire all the ones they were going to, then reload when they were sure they had eluded the escorts.

Osmium Steele 05-31-11 01:31 PM

If I turn auto-reload off, can I then choose which of my reloads goes in which tube next?

Since I've recently started carrying a mix of t1s and t2s loaded, I'd really like to reload with the same types.

I'll be darned if I get caught again at 7000 meters CPA from 2 battleships with no t1s loaded. :damn:

That is absolutely correct, Sir. I was only to say that it could be a reason for not reloading and not finding any reason for that behaviour.

@ OsmiumSteele

Hold any torp with the mouse and you can change the order of being loaded next.

Not only can you choose, but you must choose which torpedo to place in which tube.
(Use the mouse to drag your chosen torpedo to it's desired destination.)

With Auto Reload Off, and your RPMs below 100, you don't even have to set Silent Running.
Thus, although they will negate Silent Speed while working, the Damage Control Party is available at all times.
