Wow. Great use of this game for this kind of work!
Love the soundtrack! My favorite part, which I wish was just a tad longer if the soundtrack would have permitted, was the building orchestra as the Bismarck broke out of the fog! Really, really awe inspiring! You grasped that with some skill! I was really getting into it during the end when the Bismarck was taking a pounding when all of a sudden, the Bismarck sank in a tenth of a second. Not to make light of the subject due to the lives lost, but the sinking was rather comical the way it showed the huge cannons going off, then all you saw was 10 feet of the bow sticking out of the water and *poof!* gone. Was it a little too fast? Maybe. But an awesome work of art. Salute! |
I hear the call for longer sinking... It's just that I've done the whole Bimarck sinking in my previous movie, it was like half of it really, so I figured i didn't want to do it all over again.. Battle of Denmark Strait was my main aim here! :P
What I'm really glad is that noone really noticed or didn't fixate on the fact that I've used camera to hide the lack of HMS Hood model with another KGV class. So instead of Prince of Wales/Hood I had POW/POW. To me that was the tricky bit, as SH3 doesn't have the model of Hood, and using the Bismarck with british Guns wouldn't have worked - simply because of the single funnel siluhette. BTW, there is like 10 pictures of the whole operation Rhenubung - so considering that, you've seen a lot more there! :|\ Anyway, I think it's fair comment about making the ending longer, and I'll consider it. And if I do (30% chance, let's say ;)) - I will do the whole thing probably in black & white as i've done some testing in that mode and it looked VERY realistic, bar the spectacular colors. :hmm: EDIT: Ok, I've looked at the soundtrack, and it SEEMS possible to make the ending longer, just to fill in those requests. I want it done well, so I have filmed some more footatge and for sure it's gonna be a good addition for those who wanted to see the ending longer. May be tonight you'll have a longer version, almost by 1min. |
Cool movie!

I've been thinking, would it have been better to use a Revenge BB instead, for the Hood? I think a Revenge would look that part better, so to speak. :88) |

UPDATE:
On first page, I've added the LONG VERSION of the movie that some have been 'demanding' :yep: . So now it's almost 9 minutes long! Tell me what you think of it now. I've tried to include all the footage I had that was originally kept 'behind the scenes' Oh, and if someone is willing to mirror the long color version for me, i would be very greateful!. ------------ Quote:
Revenge is way off on both, as it has 1 funnel, and is smaller than KGV (Hood was like Bismarck in size). Hence, I used KGV for my film to double as Hood as it was the closest in appearance from far off, and had the correct number of funnels. The obvious difference of course are the quad guns, 3 and not 4 turrets, and differnt hull shape at stern and length. But Revenge is all wrong, so I think no, it would not have been better to use it. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7571/hmmm5nh.th.jpg |
