When I was checking out the skins, specifically the 1939 Bismarck skin, the bottom of the hull is green instead of red. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

Type941 08-02-05 03:02 PM

I think so, but I can be wrong. :P

Judging from this pic http://www.kbismarck.com/ on front page it is green, but like I said, it might be wrong impression. It's not a concern for me personally. :|\

may be the word 39 is throwing you off, so pretend it's 1940. :arrgh!:

Is there any chance we can see 'before and after' views of these ships, so that people can better appreciate the great work you're doing? I see a big difference in terms of the portholes, and the decks of the capital ships look much nicer than the standard ones.

Oh sure, I'll do that later.

I have searched all over the place and haven't found anything where Bismarck had a green bottom. In that photo I can see the black waterline and just a smidge of the red. The black is faded so I guess it could look green.

Well than, fix it if you like! :yep: I think you are correct on that, it's probably faded black reflecting green water. Oh well. :|\

Here's the Before/After shots requested, I only picked 1 version of the skin for each ship.

Lovely job on the 34 :)

Ok. I corrected the green hull. Also, I included the gray Type 34 DD. I hope that makes things a little easier having it in the same folder.

I'm not sure why you decided to include the 34 DD? :-? The green hull thing edited is one thing - but the DD is already submitted as a separate download at Terrapin place and rapidshare.. Did you make changes to my Type34?

I can't download the file to check myself, because apparently my IP already downloaded it or smth like that..

Not to come across as impatient, but Beery..

Knowing you just released a new version would you still consider updating SH3 Commander 1.43 as new Skin schemes come about and like you have with the fantastic Merchant Pack flawlessly interact these into SH3 Commander so we like myself do not have to painfully edit, delete ...copy... scratch head etc...

All work is very much appreciated...

Type 941.....

Can you be persuaded to do early-war skins for the RN destroyers too?

Apart from the Clemson class, which someone has kindly done already, the other destroyers are all stock, showing camoflage in 1939-40, which is wrong. Would be nice to have them in all grey paint.

Type941 08-03-05 03:22 AM

eh.. that would be now at this point, because 1. I don't have any reference materials and time.

but of course, it's good to get the destroyers as those are the ones that are met most of the time in-game.

For me, any more skinning will start from careers (escort, aircraft) and cruisers. You know - do them in descending order. ;)

I might re-do the skins on my Home Fleet mod to adress the excessive rust, given that noone noticed or complained about it with the new Bismarck or Type34 when it comes to wear look. That's good.

There are a number of problems:

1. Skins tend to be larger files, so I have to limit what I can put in. RUb (uncompressed) is already over 150MB, and SH3 Commander is currently over 250MB, mostly due to skins and other graphics files.

2. There are so many skins that it's hard to keep track of all of them.

3. The modmakers have to be contacted and I have to get permission to use the mods in RUb. Usually this isn't a problem, as modmakers are usually happy to share, but sometimes it's hard to track down a modmaker if he doesn't put his name in the readme file.

I will try to get the best mods I can find, but there are always going to be some that I miss.

Like I said above, I just included it to make things a little easier having everything in one package.

No.

Here is one with just the green hull fix. I used Rapidshare again. I'm not sure what other free file hosts there are.
