Or as it was officially called, the Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways

That was interesting to know.

You have to bear in mind, I grew up on a dirt road in Appalachia, a long, long time ago. "They was some flatlander pokin' around up here this mornin'. Keep yer eyes peeled. He might be a revenuer." :haha:

But even New York City would be more fun if they ripped up the pavement. It would greatly slow the pace of urban life. If you look at historical photographs of New York City during the spring rains, before they paved the streets, you can tell that things had to have moved at a much more tolerable pace. :har:

I also think it would help if we went back to requiring boys to wear knickers until getting their first pair of long pants around thirteen or fourteen years old. It would make them feel like they were joining the grown up ranks.

And girls should be taught etiquette, correct posture, and proper enunciation.

The world has gone down hill badly since those days. And bring back the Elgin Robin. Today's bicycles are weird looking. :haha:

...your idea of 'pace' is the speed and time it takes to amble from yer sans plumbing mountain shack, past the moonshine still, to the outhouse and back agin'!:O:

That's right. And you can't be proceeding at breakneck speed, or you'll pass right by the still without stopping to check if the 'shine is beading proper yet. :haha:
