Let me explain why you may get a false positive by Virus scanners with my ObjSort program.
ObjSort does NOTHING but read the obj files which are just a text file, then puts things in a standard format in another file which, again, is just a text file. Microsoft Defender, as the prime example, will give a false positive and here is why! MicroSucks has taken the stance that if a file is not Versigned? It's Bad! No exceptions from them. If they say it's bad? Screw you, it's bad JuJu. Now to Verisign my files I'd have to fork over $70 bucks a year. Screw that unless someone else wants to pay! I just add exceptions if my Virus scanner pops my own files bad. |

In this case Jeff, I don't know as VeriSign would help either. It is an executable file inside a 7z file, and MS dunna wanna no 7-Zip proggy on your computer... it's "free" to use, and MS wants all that monetary flow they're not capturing going through them... look at Paint dot net now... just as many "updates" as Windbloze... Hopefully, Sweetscape stays out of their clutches. |
I can split the file and zip it up.
That should by pass the MicroSuck BS. |
Importing obj files i do not touched anything, only exporting it you should mark "object groups."

"Object groups" as additional mark next to the standard settings, or only "object groups" in the Grouping settings? |

I tend to find this system works well for me.
I use Blender as normal, then export the file to obj. Use Wings 3D to import the obj file, then use Wings 3D to export again to obj. Not sure on what Wings 3D does differently to Blender, during the export process thought, but 99% of the time, I import the obj into S3d, and away I go. Yet with Blender exports only, I used to get all sorts of issues, including CTD's in game. |
Moin, Kaleu`s
Look at the good old Wings 3D is now in a new look and more modern and free. http://www.wings3d.com/ As well as the free Meshlab ... https://github.com/cnr-isti-vclab/meshlab/releases , https://www.meshlab.net/ You can also work very well with it. mfG Kermit |
