I did Commercial Flooring. So a SMALL job was usually around 10,000 Sq. Ft.
One of the largest was 250,000+ Sq. Ft.
At 64+ years old my body just can't do it any longer.

It's not my knees that can't handle it. I've used ProKnees for over 20 years and those things CAN NOT be beat! Still have and use the 1st pair I ever bought.
Not a bad investment for around $150 20 years ago!

I also did demolition work for the same Company in between the flooring.

Good for you Jeff! The rat race gets old. I will be retiring in 5-6 years with good behavior!

I hope it works out the way you want it too. A friend of mine is in a similar position. He will be 58 and has been doing the tile and ceramic work in new home constructions and also renovations. He told me recently he is going to slow down. I would think that kind of work is rough on the knees, back and other joints in the body.

Yeah when the mind and heart is willing but the body refuses to comply it can be very frustrating. It was getting more and more difficult to pull cable so I thank God I got this Estimator gig. Now I sit on my butt all day making work for others while listening to my arteries harden.

Congratulations Jeff ! I have ZERO regrets about retiring four years ago at 58. Wife also retired and feels the same way.
Life is to short.

1st retirement project finished in about 2 hours.
It's used pallets, reclaimed fold up brackets and screws.
Side table is in it's down position.

The white metal framing you can see is the frame from an old 10 x 10 shelter I'm modifing for a tarped roof over the area.
I'll stain and seal all the wood later.

I tell people that my funeral will have to be in the afternoon as I will be working that morning.

I am envious of those who can retire.
