Think of it as a parachute to not get down, but to get up, or across an obstacle.

Sorry Skybird, I see limited use(militarily) if any for the jump suit. We have ropes for getting up and over. The suit is bulky. Probably not easy to suit up( like suiting up with a 200 pound diving bell/suit). Not easily stowed. Does not carry weapons. Does not protect the flier. Useless for say sea rescue when there is a storm(high wind/waves). Unless this develops in to a Mechwarrior with jet packs I don't see much use for it.

I do. For example the platoon commander who wants to get eyes up on that hill peak that cannot be accessed from the ground, but offers a good overview. A Delta sniper getting up some minarett to snipe somebody. A swat-style squad attacking a rat nest of any kind, and placing the flying man as a surprise trump card striking out of a place the enemy considered to be safe.

Infiltration. Communication. Eyes. Laser-marking from elevated else unaccessible positions.

Not direct and immediate combat action and firefighting, of course. You cannot fly AND fire simultanbeosuly. Not yet...?

And then there is James Bond.

A drone can be used for all of that. No possible loss of life with a drone.

Todays fighter jet pilots has this special helmet, where he just has to look at a target end fire a missile.

I think the pilot flying one of these thing, will have some kind of similar helmet.

Aiming with his eyes, using his left fingers or verbal to chose type of weapon and fire.

Meanwhile when the rocket fires off the pilot gets toasted. Just how big a rocket do you think this suit can carry. Again, the drone is the platform of chose IMO.

The development in type of fuel used in rockets and missile is high.

And a missile that is fired from a fighter jet, doesn't ignite before after 3-5 sec. after been released from its peleton.

Never the less, a drone is platform of choice IMO. The Ironman suit here does not appear to be something worth pursuing militarily. The videos shown have the demonstration on a calm day out of the water. How are the suits performing on a windy day out on the water with say pirates that jump tankers and have weapons? Other than delivering a pizza to another ship I see no use for this suit militarily.

I figure this is just an Alpha version of a full Iron Man suit!
Alpha .0.0.2

Eventually it will reach the Mark 1 stage.

On that I may agree-Its military use.

Maybe one day in the future where this suite has improved it may be a choice for the military.

You know at one point in time a submarine was just a crazy wooden barrel some nut bag tried!

Look at the Submarines of today!

Who would have thunk this
https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.ja5sQF...=7&o=5&pid=1.7

Would end up as this?
https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.f3jC4L...=7&o=5&pid=1.7

Given the research (And theft of Alien Technology) on exoskeleton additions?
Why not see that this is possible at a future date?

You do know this was one of the first modern computers right?
https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.Z2xjSf...=7&o=5&pid=1.7

Some will argue this was one of the first.

All true, however, the engineers need to be working towards this(maybe the jump suit here is the starting point):

You know things like that ARE in the works.
https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.ts86Yv...=7&o=5&pid=1.7

Think of the Tank and how far it has come.
