Quite a remarkable man may he rest in peace. I remember seeing him hanging out with Bob Hoover at the Reno air races by a motorhome, or trailer. That was in the early eighties and and I'd snuck onto the tarmac with a friend after dark to snoop around. We were staying at the air field in a motorhome and just walked in. We didn't have the courage to try and talk to him.

I wish you had gotten to speak with him as that would been a great memory to have. I would like to think that Chuck would have spoken with you regarding your shared love of aviation.

Don't feel bad for anyone who makes it to their 93rd birthday. :Kaleun_Cheers:

Col. Robin Olds is another legend and innovator as I'm sure you well know.:yep:
The times they both lived in were when men were real men and couldn't have cared less about being politically correct.

back to our boy, one of the scenes in "The Right Stuff" is when Yeager flies and loses control of the NF-104, basically a rocket powered F-104, at over 100,000 feet. They actually recorded that and the footage was made public last year...

RIP Chuck a real hero for sure

There must be a reason why God lets some people live longer and takes some still in their prime of life.

I hope I get to find out why :yep:

Indeed. I first time I saw the name and "knew" him was trough the game, one of my favourites. Then, when my parents rented "The Right Stuff" in the video store, and I saw with them, I was "OH, that's the guy from the game."
