There is a 4gb patch that comes with Hsie's too. Ctds as you describe can be caused by memory problems.

- Did you install Hsie's 4gb patch too ? It is applied via default. One would have to uncheck it to not install it.

- Did you do the wolfpack tests mentioned in his patch documentation ?

I did install hsi 4gb patch because I did not unceck it.

Was I supposed to?

Since you had already installed a 4gb patch, no need to install Hsie's. I don't know if installing two would cause problems, but I would think it could.

I just spent twelve game hours stalking an NYGM convoy/playing cat and mouse with a port side escort the entire time.
Fair weather, cloudy, perfect for a night surface attack.

Night comes, pack is assembled. Just as I'm getting into attack position, the weather breaks and the sky clears !
Went from perfect surface attack conditions to bright, clear night with an escort close by !

The pack had struck already (sunk five so far), and I find myself in the midst of ships trying to escape, including a carrier !
But the escort nearest me was drawn off by the pack anyway.

Ships getting hit, escorts engaging the pack, other ships trying to get away and me just trying to not be seen/run over by any of them now, with no chance to fire without a major change of plan which I may not get the chance to do.

You think a ctd is frustrating ! Shadow/report a convoy for twelve game hours and not one shot yet, lol.

Fwiw, I'd recommend a new install of sh3 1.4/gwx with only the Hsie patch extra.

No other mods. Get that working and go from there. If you do, use the 4gb patch with Hsie's patch.

When you open LAA on the advance setting and point it to the relevant SH3 executable it should show True when LAA is active and this should be the case with the 4GB Patch from H.Sei is already applied. If LAA shows False, no 4GB patch has been applied.

My admittedly limited experimenting indicates that LAA will not apply itself over H.Sie's 4GB patch but don't know about the other way around.

brand new install of sh3. deleted everything included in documents.

unsintalled sh3 commander too.

installed sh3 commander
install sh3 commanders little extra gwx files needed via .exe

I tested before I ran sh3 and it was fine.

something isn't right, even after I uninstalled commander and load sh3 with the normal exe file, it still says loaded via sub commander on the bottom, like wtf is going on here.

oh and yea before anyone asks, I have roll back checked, and it still says when trying to launch sh3 by itself, loaded with SH3 commander.

Seriously, im now 1.3 hours into messing with this, same crap.

Tried to install the HSI for the 4gb patch, hoping that was the cause of the CTD, although with no mods doubtful. and while the hsi was a success. CTD CTD CTD CTD!!!

Did you empty your SH3 save folder again? That would something like "C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH3. The game runs off the information in that folder, and if the Save says commander is in there, commander is in there, and it will crash you every time. Any major changes in the mods or configuration of the game, and you need to empty the Save folder. :salute:

I think i read somewhere that you need fixed files to use with sh3 commander with gwx, maybe someone can give you a link.
