After i applied this fix i started to have random CTD without any sort of error. Is it "normal"?

Hi NE
I have used it a few times now and no problems at all. 77 TWOS manual save games to date, no CTD's. Peter |
[QUOTE=THEBERBSTER;2356483]Hi Bera
I forgot about the completed bit as its a long time since I was able to use a working tonnage bar. The tonnage bar does not recognize all the ships that you sink only the ones that pertain to the mission you are in. Quote:
I've been using MaMa's fix since he posted it on this forum. I was then about halfway through "Western Approaches" campaign. My tonnage bar filled up on almost all the missions (except those that their date limits were already reached). However, on "Turning Point", none of the tonnage bars were filled! The missions are all like "tonnage wars XX", and the mission area is quite large (most of the north atlantic). I tried to sink ships only on that area, but no luck... Strange! I have not disabled the "no stupid tonnage bar" mod, must be something about this? I also asked about OHII on my first message because I don't know if OHII changed some of the mission objectives... Thank you again! |

So just to make sure I have this right, are you saying that you have a mission showing on the navigation map called "Turning Point"? Or is it one of the special missions that are not listed? These two below are also special missions that you cannot request but are given to you when you start a new patrol. "Infiltrate a spy near Liverpool." "Infiltrate commando team near Narvik." They are seen on the left side of the Captain's Log and show completed when done. They do not appear in the mission listings when you exit a saved game. There may be others but I am not as far in my campaign's as you are. These special missions appear while you are in other missions but I do not think they have any effect on the tonnage bar as I said unless they actually show on the map. Peter |

sorry, my mistake! I was talking about "Turning Point" campaign! The missions are "Tonage wars - spring 1943", and so on. None of them have their tonnage bars filled up! Tks |

I am assuming that possibly your previous campaigns are broken to such a degree that they cannot be fixed. Why not test the fix with a new career. You can always go back again to your old one. Peter |

personally, I'm more interested in seeing if the game is now running properly for all those that play the vanilla or light-modded versions. I don't like the tonnage bar system, and now I'm using back the "iron crosses disabled" mod. For now, I only want to play and finish a whole career to have a full WWII U-boat experience! :yeah: It's only a shame that we don't have type IX U-boats for Operation Drumbeat campaign... Thank you again, you're very helpful with everyone on this forum, be them newbies or seasoned captains! |
Hi Bera
Mama fully tested the stock game without mods IIRC and everything worked as it should do. I can see no reason from the on going postings by Mama and other modders where there is any situation where this fix is going to fail. TWOS and sobers mega mod has the tonnage bar with the Campaign crosses removed so it is the missions and campaigns that will now update correctly providing MaMa's fix is used. Peter |
To be more precise, Mama's solution with TWoS, Sobers modlist, and Sjizzle's Magui based megamod will be necessary only when you're expecting campaign transfer, on campaign ending. Before that date, you can load your gamesaves with or without setting OSI.exe priority, there will be no significant impact on campaign progress. And that is all...
EDIT: Anyone else who plays stock SH5 (forgive them God for their ignorance :haha:) or with Open Horizons v2.5 only ( and without No Stupid Tonnage Bar/Free style campaign addon) will have to use Mama's solution every time the game is started (annoying, but nothing we can do about it). However, these players will still experience a whole range of different issues with their objective activation and campaign progress as a consequence of certain game limitations. |
Hi Vecko
Your comments have been noted and added as a footnote in the tutorial. Peter |

It seems that the CTD that appeared after the MAMA fix is directly related to TC1 on new radio contact. Whenever it is on, it crashes on the same place and same mission/save (when i get near to heligoland). So i started to see the relationship thus i tried to not activate it and eureka, no more CTD. |

To have a confirmation about the OSI functionality simply start the DBG viewer and track his behaviour, if it is responsible of the CTD you can surely view it from here (look for errors or missing input/output informations of OSI immediately after the CTD). My guess is that most probably it is not the OSI causing the CTD but some issues related to the campaign flow... let me know if you find something and if you need more informations feel free to ask :) ! |

The "Turning point" campaign is the extension introduced by the OHII mod, it is not part of the original SH5 campaign. I can't assure you if it is created with the full usage of the tonnage bar feature. Regarding the stock campaign, it is important to note that it is bugged. I was thinking about debugging and then uploading it for players who are interested in playing the stock game (as to have at least a fully playable vanilla game). As soon as i have some time available i will do it but still i recommend to use the existing mega-mods as they have more features and realistic objectives :) ... |
