Cheap blue plastic here, also. Don't need more than a double blade and may soon go to a single....

It is true, we are sticked to what we are used to or like, we are in many ways very conservative when it come to certain things.
A person could be using a simple cheap razor for years and even thou there would be a better razor than the one this person is using, he "love" his razor and wouldn't change it-He know what he have and he don't know what he will get, if he change razor. Markus |
Sometimes I use a safety razor, sometimes I use the cheap Mach3 that the PX has.
I wouldn't mind the dollar a month shave club, or something like Harry's but I am overseas on an Army base in Korea. I'll see if Harry's ships to APO/AP. |

The nifty Rolls Razor
Of some interest actually What we take for granted :https://dralun.wordpress.com/2014/03/21/shaving-in-the-trenches-washing-and-grooming-in-the-great-war/ These are still pretty Kool The Rolls Razor with builtin strop stone.
The blade was about the size of a conventional disposable blade but was solid, hollow ground and not disposable, it incorporated a safety guard. The company's principal market was a twenty-first birthday present for a young man. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...olls_Razor.JPG https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._open_case.JPGRolls Razor open case. The blade handle on the left is attached to the honing mechanism lever via a spring-loaded bearing. The nickel plated blade on the right side is attached to the honing bar that slides on the red leather strop. The grey honing stone is part of the closing lid. The leather strop and the hone lids are not interchangeable as the blade needs to push against the hone but pull against the strop. The blade has a safety guard with pivot action that allows it to vary the shaving angle while providing safe operation. The head of the blade handle locks perpendicular to the blade using a slide type of action with the spring-loaded bearing providing additional stability. Still found at gun shows; Very nice cross of a safety razor with a straight razor. |

I have two razor sets at home - Mach3 and the straight razor from my ancestor who got executed back in 1937.

Gillette 195,
and whatever blade I can scrounge. Bought a box of "Feather" blades, as they were supposed to be the "ants pants". Can barely get 1 shave out of a blade. |
