Were you a nuc ET2SN? That sounds more like a diesel boat than a nuc anchor.

One time I walked through a dry dock in Newport News while an FBM was in the chocks going through overhaul and the anchor was flush mount with the bottom of the sub. :yep:

I was on both types but that happened on a 688 (698 to be exact) and no, I was not a Nuc. :D

It has been a few years since I have read Blind Man's Bluff, but I remember it mentions one of the boats that went to install the listening pods in the soviet coast using some sort of anchor to remain in place in the bottom while the divers did their work.
