:har::har::har: That was funny... and I know that you know all about cockneys. Dick Van Dyke's cockney accent is a legend here; you really did have a lucky escape:haha:

This probably explains why I like British spellings so much, or why I slip into an English accent from time to time.

Just think....now you get to vote in both elections :know:

The guy dubbing Homer Simpson since 1991 is 85 now... and I hope he will continue.

Thank you - I've wondered about that since the days of Robinson Crusoe, when I was young http://www.sixtiescity.net/Television/Crusoe.htm

Yes, yes, I know that's the other way around, but that's when the question started for me (also a truly wonderful series...and the theme music...ahh!)

Remember the dubbing on this? Was it good or was it a pile of cack?

@Endrass
Given that you have the UK citizenship, then you also have the EU citizenship. The Queen of England e.g. does not only have an UK citizenship, but she also has an EU citizenship, she is an EU citizen, u hear that Steed?

That means, you have all the privileges of an EU citzen, like free movement of workers.

To give an example: I recently had a Canadian citizen who was a Swiss-Canadian with dual citizenship. He fell in love with a German woman and wanted to live with her in Germany. Usually, we throw a Canadian without a job out of the country after 3 months when his tourist visa runs out. But the Swiss-Eu relations are such, that Swiss citizens are treated like EU citizens. As a consequence, the Swiss-Canadian has 6 months time to find a job in Germany and needs no visa (less formalities).

How cool is that?:arrgh!:

Going back to dubbing, the best or worst, depends how you look at it has to be Russian diving of English language films especially the one guy doing ask the voices deadpan.

Dual taxation, shady legal issues, twice the studying for shoddy elections, this is starting to look less fun. :nope:

However, I think that, in the end, I'll enjoy it all. It'll be nice to have two places to go if I need it, not to mention I think that Britain's a great place (lived there for about 4 years in the first place). It has the perfect climate for me...cool, wet, and not too much sun.

Speaking of living there, was anyone living in or around HMNB Portsmouth (aka HMS Nelson) in 2002-06?

Oberon 06-18-15 01:12 PM

If Scotland ever does break with the UK I wonder if I'll be able to claim dual citizenship... :hmmm:

At least GBR does not have compulsory national service any more so you won't be drafted if you visit. :)
