My expectations went way down with the Millennium Falcon "look what we can do with camera angles" thing.

Edit:
So, Episode III was set 19 years before Episode IV, and Episode VII is set 30 years after Episode VI.
In the less than two decades the Empire was in power, the technology increased, and we saw different ships being used in the two eras.
In the three decades since the fall of the Empire, technology seems to have stagnated, and we're seeing the same X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and YT-1300 as before.

Wow. The New Republic really didn't have their stuff together.

Well, the X-Wings were brand new in Episode IV I believe and if you compare that to the real world it's not that far fetched as the F15 and F16 have been around for an equally long time.

Something fishy about that stormtrooper...........:hmm2:

Oh yeah, He ain't a clone. (maybe he's another character that's pinched a suit for a disguise)

And as for the new lightsabre.............
Arise, Lord Lancelot. :haha:

Plus the fall of the Empire (assuming it has fallen and not just retreated and restructured under a smaller amount of worlds) is going to have been a bit like the fall of the Roman Empire, mass chaos and disorder without a strong central government to control hundreds of worlds.
Technology is not going to advance that far until some sense of order has been restored enough.

This is all just guess work, of course, I'm not really clued up on the EU of Star Wars but I know that the Galactic Empire was a colossal entity, so something that big collapsing would cause a massive vacuum (pardon the pun).

Other than that, i'm willing to keep an open mind. I honestly think that I will go see it regardless.

Taking it from BLAKES7 view...Whats that? This...

The bad guys were the Terran Federation who used drug control and their military space fleet to expand and put down resistance, the odd massacre as well. Any how by the end of series two the Terran Federation was at war with a invading alien force, start of series three we learn the Federation won but at a heavy cost causing the empire to shrink as they rebuilt their fleet. By the start of series four we learn the Federation has created a new drug that turns people into dodo's and we must assume the Federation was on the rise again.

So I think Oberon could be on the money in SW world. :03:

Now all we need is Servalan and we're on to a winner! :haha: :03:
