These widespread sightings often also turn out to be just large grumpy moggies, and people seem to see them everywhere, like UFOs...

Yipes! http://forums.canadiancontent.net/history/124941-skeleton-legendary-16th-century-devil.html There appears some foundation to the lore! http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/...33_634x383.jpg

That was a wonderful link, Aktung: absolutely fascinating news and I'm just going to re-read it now.

Me too...the most plausible possibility :yep:

Apart from the Loch Ness monster of course :)

STEED 10-05-14 05:14 AM

I think in the case of the Big Cats roaming around they must be dying off now as sighting are very very rare now.

Eh?

I've seen the scorch-marks (it's on Blythburgh church) but not seen the petrified demonic doo-doo. :har:

The church itself is worth a visit if you're ever in the area, it's one of the biggest in the local area and very nicely made, even has a little meeting room like place up a small staircase. :yep:

EDIT:

*record scratch noise*

Wait...wait...wait a minute, hold the presses.

*reads Aktungs link*

LEISTON ABBEY?!
That's literally just up the road from here, I had my sixth-form leavers dinner there....why am I only hearing about this now? I'd heard of digs going on in that area, likewise there's been some on the marshes near here.

Good lord... :o

Hi, Oberon,

I have to say I was mindful that this is in your neighbourhood. You found me out, though: I made up the bit about the fossilised doggie-doo.

I had no idea either that they'd dug this thing up and we are absolutely fascinated by this news as well.

Oberon 10-05-14 09:30 AM

:haha: Thought the doggie-doo was a bit of a stretch. Honestly wouldn't have put it past someone to try it though to get some tourist income. :03:
Very interesting news about the dig though, I've shown it to me Mum, she reckons it could well have been a Mastiff guard dog, apparently they were used a fair bit back then to guard the rather full purses of the monks. :yep:

Yes, but SEVEN feet tall?? They can't mean that, surely?

It's now far too late. Like the ever-present crop circles, even an admission by the perpetrators of the hoax is not enough to stop the word spreading. It is now on teh interwebz. The fantastic fossilised doggie-doo is now a fact, and all the claims to the contrary will never make it go away. Only the uncultured unbelievers will accept the government cover-up and deny the proven fact that the mysterious fossilised feces are real.

See what you've started? :O:

(Well of course the Moth Men come into the churchyards at night to feast upon the petrified doo-doo.)
