Thanks guys. Good info! I decided to go with RSRD and the Improved Enviroments mod for now as I haven't played a sub sim in quite a few years.

Quick question though. I took some hits from a destroyer and crash dived. Was able to survive and repair my boat at 180ft while the destroyers depth charged me. Everything was repaired and was able to surface a while later but my diesels won't work, even though they don't come up as destroyed or even damaged anymore. Would anything else effect my propulsion? I noticed that my hydraulic pump and main pump is red, but not showing damaged. I can't remember if the little pictures were always red or if it means destroyed.

And that said, if i can't get the diesels going, is there a way out of the patrol or is that the end? i am a ways from a friendly port.

Thanks!!:)

if you left your crew at battle stations too long they don't change shifts so when they get tired enough they go to sleep on you and stop responding to orders so that could be why the engines aren't moving, the crew is asleep.

Thanks Webster. I thought of that and switched some crews around but no luck. Either way I am just going to start over. I forgot to install the RSRD patch and I may remove that real environment mod as it seems like 90% of the time it's foggy with it on.

Another question. How is Operation Monsoon? I find I miss the Uboats after so much time in SH3. Does one use RSRD with Operation Monsoon as well or is that just for Pacific campaigns?

all mods are for the pacific campaigns unless they say they are for OM

OM is a complete rewrite of the campaign files so run it as a separate game install and don't try to use any other mods with it unless they are designed for the german side and sayu they are OM safe.

OM will be hard on your system so if its marginal then you ewill have A good bit of CTD to learn how to avoid.

there is a seperate forum for the german side you should read http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=234 to find out more

If you're still at battle stations switching the crew around won't help, you have to click the "send crew to battle stations" button again to secure from battle stations. If you go to the crew screen and all three shifts have the dark background you're still at battle stations. If one line is dark and the other two light you're on regular watches and will get going in a few minutes.

Like this;

Bottom row has a dark background line indicating the duty watch, if all three rows have dark background then you're still at battle stations.

Is a simple mod that should be among the top 10, instead of dim and less dim yellow you get a bright green light to indicate something is on.

If you think it's a "diesels destroyed" glitch try saving, exit, and reload the save, sometimes that will reset it.

I don't think OTC is compatible. CapnScurvy made a version of SCAF, that was for RFB/RSRDC. I forget the details about that.

About graphic mods; you would have to check with the mod readme/author, or use trial and error.

You should install them as listed. Other small mods can be installed after, if they are compatible.
