I'm guessing one of those is "put not the Lord thy God to the test"?

CLOSE! Jesus quotes Moses from Deuteronomy 6:16: “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.” What does Moses mean by “putting the Lord to the test?” In order to understand this verse: Christ is tempted by Satan to jump from a great height to test if God will spare him. He rebukes Satan by citing Moses as to a water shortage of the Hebrews( in the 40 year trek at Massah) who test God similarly. Whether over gravity issues, water issues or serpentine issues, such testing of God is a big time 'No-No'. But then I could have a biased opinion!:D

So could we all, but I think you hit it just right. These people spend more time trying to impress themselves and each other than actually going an preaching the Gospel. I never read of any of the Apostles or other disciples doing things like that, though I could easily be misremembering. It's been awhile since I was a firm believer myself.

I think he meant no algebra tests.:D

I had heard someplace, I don't remember where:dead:, that these Pentecostal snake handler goofies, milked the snakes (no not that one, the viper!:O:) before they handled them, so if they got bit, nothing serious would happen. Basically, it's a sham with some preachers.:hmmm:

CaptainHaplo mentioned it in this thread.Though it is not a complete sham as snakes constantly produce venom.A snake that is milked say once or twice a week will have much less venom to inject than a wild snake will.

So the milked snake will still cause harm but the likelihood that a bit will be fatal is much lower. They want to have some venom so that when bitten some form of injury is caused which will assuredly heal yet be serious enough to cause some gibber jabber speaking in tongues hooey.Thing is it is not a wild bit with full venom sacs but a weak fizzle.

It is still a sham just not a sure fire one sometimes the venom is stronger than normal and the dingbat dies. That or they make a mistake and think they grabbed recently milked snake and they did not or thought they recently milked a snake and did not.

Personally I think it is cruelty to animals why should a rattlesnake or copperhead be stuck in a box like that and then shaken around by some idiot? The way I see it if it is something that you as a human being would dislike being an unwilling participant in it is cruelty.(excluding veterinary treatments and i am not so sure making an animal have chemo is right seeing as many humans being refuse this treatment due to the pain it causes animals live in the moment after all)

Another thing I notice is that they do not bother to use Water Moccasins.Well I know why Cottonmouths are much more aggressive if you pick one up it will strike while a rattlesnake may not.

They should try that crap with a "Two Step" as they where known during the Vietnam War the Blue Krait. Two step as in once bitten two steps later you drop dead.
