Just to make sure you are doing it right, you place those config files for SH3 Commander in the folder of Commander, NOT in the SH3-installfolder itself.

Well after getting frustrated with GWX not wanting to work beyond September of 39 I took a bit of a break from trying to fix this. Fast forward to about half an hour ago when I downloaded a mod for Civ 4 BTS and it wouldn't work I decided to check something. I wanted to see if the Civ 4 folder had all the security permissions checked to yes and lo and behold it didn't, so I checked them to yes and the mod worked. That suddenly got me thinking, "What if I move my SH3 folder to the X86 and then make sure all the security permissions were checked to yes. Would GWX finally work after the month of September was over"? Well I did just that and guess what? IT FINALLY WORKS!!!!!! :Kaleun_Party::Kaleun_Party::Kaleun_Party: Now all that's left is to download the GWX3 files for SH3 commander, do the same thing to its folder and see if that also works. I'll post and update on whether it does or doesn't.

Ok I found some more problems and maybe a solution to said problems. So the fix didn't work for SH3 Commander and what's worse even after I uninstalled it the game wouldn't work if I started beyond September of 39. So I did something I never thought of doing until going over the folder details. I ran the thing in compatibility mode and that fixed it. If this fixes SH3 Commander as well i'm going to go bang my head against a brick wall.

Admiral Halsey 04-10-14 07:55 PM

That fixed it. This whole time the problem was my computer was too good.:damn::damn::damn::damn: Take notice folks. Sometimes compatibility mode is all it takes to solve your problems.

YAY!

Glad it's working for you. Now you get to discover the real fun.
Since you're using Commander might I be so conceited as to suggest this?

No you are not. I've still got a problem with JGSME not working for some reason but after all the time i've spent trying to get this to work i'll deal with no mods other then GWX3. If I really want a particular mod i'll just manually add it by overwriting the files.(But not before backing them up first.)

One last update. I got the mods working. Turns out all I needed to do was give JGSME admin control. So I now have a SH3, SH4 and SH5 all working on my computer. Life is sweet.:)

Sure is. I've got a choice of playing what many consider the best in the series, messing about with fleet boats or going for the graphical beauty. What more could I want?

My Ship Names mod doesn't use JSGME, and it doesn't go into GWX or SH3. It is placed manually into the SH3 Commander/CFG folder, replacing the old Ship Names file. All it does is add 13,000 new names to the list of names Commander gives when you sink a ship. :sunny:

Ah yes the Type XXIII AKA the "Two strikes and you're out" boats. I'll give it a try after I get used to playing SH3. Oh and Steve I did read the readme to your mod. I was just stating that until I got JGSME working i'd have to do without mods that require it. I did eventually get it working My computer decided to tick off the "run as an administrator" box even though I had it checked. :/\\!!
