I've seen dozens of homemade ones. I tried at one point to make one but couldn't find a spring that is powerful enough. :hmmm: Didn't want to take apart anything important.

I'd be careful doing that you could get yourself in a lot of trouble making any kind of weapon.Or you do it wrong and take out an eye.

Seems kind of crazy to me so of these laws what do they expect you to do in CA if you must defend your life? Pray perhaps I mean they pretty much ban every weapon in CA.I hope the law makers in CA never hear of the old adage "The deadilst weapon is your mind" if they do they will require everyone to have a lobotomy.

this site is pretty neat read the quirks section for each state in Virgina it is the state law that you must clean your knife every day.

The problem in CA stems from two main issues:

1. Almost all the laws passed against particular and specific weapons are done so because either there is a large and frequent use of those weapons by criminal groups (e.g., gangs) and the authorities and lawmakers are besieged to pass a law to address the problem;

2. Other causes for outlawing specific weapons often lay in the misuse or abuse of the weapons by non-criminal idiots who cause mayhem by trying to impress others with how cool or macho they are; this often includes school kids who get access to the weapons and cause injury resulting in concerned parents clamoring for, yes, new laws.

There is another big reason why states like California have so many, many laws relating to specific weapons: Lawyers. If a law is not exceedingly specific about the type, description, material composition, etc., some smarmy layer defending a punk criminal will use that slight (in some cases, very slight) crack in the wording of the law to get his client off on the charges. The rest of us who really have no intention of doing harm are penalized by the actions of the criminal class and their defenders....

My most recent discovery was taking the end of a Nerf dart out and replacing it with a pushpin.

No, the holes in the ceiling, door, wall, and that box have nothing to do with me. :)

I realized that ballistic knives are a bit higher caliber than what I was used to concoting when I saw some YT videos and after a little bit, decided not to attempt it.

I've also got the crossbow that shoots Bic ink cartridges. There are also many holes in various ceiling tiles at school from that one. :D
