Anyway rebels killing each other is wonderful news. :up:

Please tell me you're being sarcastic.

Most of the non-al Qaeda rebels aren't terrorists. They're fighting against an oppressive regime.

Just like the Americans in the war of Independance.

EDIT: Actually, you're right. We shouldn't get involved with foreign dictators with moustaches.

After all, what's the worst that could happen? :)

Well I was mostly thinking al-Qaeda et. al. affiliated organizations as they (at my understanding) have most power and best equipment. Besides I see somewhat predictable dictator as better option than risking Taliban style goverment in future.

Also as I posted later only certain way to eradicate al-Qaeda completely from Syria is commiting genocide by killing every single human living there (and anyone tries go there). I don't advocate that option but I don't see another way if you want to be sure. Its better to keep eliminating most severe terrorist trouble makers rather than go that way.

Ah, OK.

War in the middle east seems to be full of bad outcomes, no matter what we do, if we intervene at all.

Assad = Bad

Al Qaeda = Bad

You've gotta feel sorry for the people living there. Really makes you realise how lucky we are.

This is one reason why armies where uniforms, badges, etc...

You can't tell the good guys from the bad guys when they all are wearing whatever.

Unfortunately that concept started dying with the adoption of camouflage.

While that is true you still distinguish yourself from civilians and are not hiding among them.

Yep, one has to admit that as a camouflage technique it is very effective.

I was. Uniforms are just one part of the effort. I agree with you that all combatants in a war should wear uniforms but that would self defeating to an insurgent.
