I hope you were just kidding :hmmm:

here at SUBSIM we aren't about denying anyones valid right to state opinions that are positive or negative wether we agree with them or not.

the OP has the right to express any opinion he wishes within the rules and we welcome all sides of the spectrum to chime in with their opinions too as long as it is done in a respectful and non insulting manner.

I strongly disagree with your statement:

"We do not want to hear from people who disagree with us. OP, please go and post somewhere else. You were mistaken to think that your opinion and your experience were worth consideration"

and while I respect that may be your opinion and you certainly have the right to express it, I think (and hope) an opinion such as yours does NOT represent the majority of this community and it is definitely NOT an opinion shared by SUBSIM staff or management.

Hah! I misunderstood.

I doubt anyone will disagree with you on U-Play. Last night, even though I have mine set for "offline", it forced me to log in and "update", before I could reset it to "offline"...:/\\!!

No not an hornet nest, but lately there have been too many threads of the "I've just trashed SH5" kind, and people are a bit tired of them. I am sorry if your post has been misunderstood for one of them.

To be fair, you started off by saying that this game is "rubbish" which might have lead to the misunderstanding. Anyway... the game is by now fully playable in off-line mode. The one time an internet connection is required, is the first time you install it, for game code activations. Explain in detail your problem, and you will receive all the help you need

:sign_yeah:

One can disagree on the content of a post by someone else, and indeed he is free to answer it back or to ignore it. But saying that criticism has no room here smells of censorship and it is not in line with the great opnness of this community :yep:

Webster, I apologize if my sarcasm was too subtle for you. Up Nort', we're not exactly known for being facile, and I certainly thought the intent would be obvious. As for my comment which you quote, that is EXACTLY the message I took from the posts I saw here. I hoped that by stating it baldly, I could highlight the fact that (IMO) more than one of the posts on this thread are pushing the boundaries of the SubSim code of conduct. Hopefully, I have.

I find it "rubbish"!!

Ok, the scenery is fine, load on is slow, U-Play interferres too much and i, the last time, need to restart the game 2 times before i could into the sub:down:

I'll stay with SH3 GWX3 and SH4:up:

Sorry folks:arrgh!:

Nothing new ... I can understand all frustration when it comes to SH5, sometimes it can be really hard to grasp with all the mods, patches, updates ect...Hopefully, soon you'll have fresh megamod which will makes things much easier for "hit and run" players like you...

What i really can't understand is why in the world "in depth analysis" like this are addressed to subsim in the first place?! Shouldn't you post somewhere else, like Ubisoft forums or something?!
Your "rubbish" comment certainly doesn't look like constructive criticism, it is rather provocation so don't be surprised when you see some "sharp" answers.

I thought this was a world wide web site! Obviously not!

On every other site I'd reply with: you new here ? Except that over here, people are very helpfull, if you dont first create confusion by saying the game is rubbish while you mean to say the launcher sucks .. apparently :06:

By the time I reacted, I had already resisted to answer much sharper .. after noticing your English isn't using correct form, I decided to leave room for interpretation .. still, it was NOT at all clear you meant the launcher.

If you would have read the basic sticky's in the mod forum, you would already have your launcher to offline, and no issues with it.

All the other issues are mod issues .. loading time and game nor working properly that is. Which is easily resolved by using one of the lists and thus not having to work out the issues yourself.

Thank you all for your "feedback", but at this time
No Thank you:hmmm:
If all you took from this discussion is the two bits you quoted, I feel confident in stating that the critisism was appropriate.

when I post something like that I take "everyones comments" into account.

the trouble with sarcasm in forums is you need to add a jk to put it in context or it can, and often will be, taken as a comment and not sarcasm so to avoid 10 more posts "one upping" yours I felt I needed to comment. I have to take into account what a new member might think seeing comments like yours and not understanding they are meant to be sarcastic. it shows poorly on us and does not help in a thread with already touchy feelings expressed.

I did feel your comment was supposed to be sarcastic but others might not read it that way which is often the trouble with out of context sarcasm. just because I "think" something is meant as sarcasm doesn't mean I can just "assume" its ok to do so and as moderator and representative of SUBSIM I have an obligation to counter comments like those you posted.

Webster 10-31-13 10:59 AM

hey guys, lets keep things in context here.

BassII made some comments I can only assume are born out of frustration and we have all been there at one time or the other.

there is no unringing the bell and he has every right to feel the way he does wether we agree or not. all we can do is wait and see if he wants our help to resolve any issues he has or if he has truly given up and moved on.

in either case the next step is up to BassII to decide if he wants our help.

if he just wanted to vent his frustration and set fire to the barn on the way out then maybe he will return again in the future when there are some preassembled super mods that make things easier for him.

remember, he was directing his scorn at ubi and u-play not the community or the modders here.

Are you suggesting that someone else here was breaking the subsim code of conduct and Websters reply to you should have been at them:-?

:O:
