Thanks Sailor Steve. The article depicted the scenario as akin to a BBQ where the lighter fluid starts the blaze but the real heat is in the embers; I do not recall if it was in Celsius or Farenheight. The building was constructed with a new high tensile steel in its exterior verticals and center columns which made the concept of such tall buildings even feasible. The critical trusses however would have been ordinary steel and poorly insulated it seems... Mr. Atta increased the velocity of the aircraft to 500 mph and canted his wings to effect a multi-floor impact for the initial impact of 20000+ gallons of fuel (8 lbs per gallon). My town has a memorial made from the beams...

I think you are thinking Fahrenheit. IIRC, the fires were though to have burned
at about 900-1100 Celsius according to NIST. |
IIRC Dowly studied the 9/11 attack extensively? I would go with what he has to offer for evidence, truth and fact.

*Jumps back into nuclear bunker and bolts the hatch* :O: |
Isn't launching a salvo of properly preheated well-greased eels and shouting LOS at a fat slooow moving tanker in a lightly misting foggy overcast (50 shades of Grey) from the relative privacy of your conning tower(above it all) porn? Or, to misquote Steve McQeen in The Sand Pebbles, "well shoot something"!:arrgh!:
