Considering that the Secret Service's agents train to even sacrifice their lives for his, he shouldn't have shaved his head - which does nothing btw as long as there is no magic substance in his hairs - , but pay or at least massively contribute to the hospital bill. They need to run a fund raising show, haven't you read it? Obviously money is a problem then. With such close ties to the Saudi family and business tycoons, I am quite sure that the Bush dynasty, not really known for their poverty themselves, would hardly have noticed it on their banking account.

Or he should have stayed invisible and behind the fenceline, if he did not want to donate. No wrong in that, there is no moral obligation to donate.

Just pathetic or symbolic posturing or talking - that is what kills things immediately for me.

Yeah, I'll admit I test the limits but so do many others on here. You coming after me along with Takeda Shingen are just instigating the problems and getting a rise out of me. Then you infract me for any little things I say or do.

I can understand serious violations of the rules being punishable but not this petty stuff. Not everyone has the same personality type or the same political views and there's going to be arguments and disagreements but that's good in a way because it gets people thinking and deciding who has the winning argument. That's the point of debate.

Just like now. Am I being unreasonable? I don't think so. I think maybe it's you that's being personal and unreasonable. But Neal is going to do what Neal is going to do. I support him and his site. He's asked me to calm down a few days ago and now I think it's time you calm down and relax.

So you going around making nasty remarks to dozens of members is "quick witted/not-so-serious" but if somebody does it to you it is mean and hurtful. In other words, you don't want to be treated the way that you treat everybody else. Respect is to be a one-way street for you. Sorry, but life isn't that way. You want to be treated well, you treat others well. All I have been doing is mirroring your own actions back, and you don't like it one little bit.

Pretty good. Off for the summer, which is awesome, but it all starts up again in about 3 weeks. Promoted to chair, which is a salary bump but a lot more work.

Ha, for me it's the exact opposite. Summer traffic is getting back to where it was before the recession, meaning a lot more congestion. Nothing like being busy!
My major time off is coming in October/November. Right now I'm planning a trip to the Far East

As for the thread topic, GHW Bush is I think an underrated President. Good for him! For those saying he should have kept it quiet - people pay attention to things like this first for the person, but they stay for the issue. No one has ever confused GHWB for a limelight-hogger.
