Norton spit both the EASY and ORIGINAL out like sour milk. Both were contaminated with: "SONAR.Heuristic.110".

Sounds good.

Does this mean you can save the Bismark by pre-sinking the opposing force?

Did you always have downs syndrome?

Pick a competent anti-virus.

terryn, a word to the wise: Personal attacks are frowned upon in the SubSim forums. Avoid a visit from The Man.

I don't understand your last comment. Since the warning came from NAV, which you apparently don't like, do you mean that he shouldn't have posted it? That others should ignore it? That you know the warning was a false positive? If so, how?

Not only frowned upon, but downright discouraged. :sunny:

But, terryn, why would it matter to you how he said it? It's not your mod that is infected.

Or is it?

And, if the file is infected, as you yourself imply, shouldn't others be warned about it?

He can take that sour milk and shove it.

The mod is fine and dandy. Norton always mis-labeles things. Its labeled as a low risk by Norton anyhow.

Norton wouldn't know a Trojan if it slapped it in the face, and either would don1reed apparently.

Final warning....behave.

BigWalleye 10-05-13 02:25 PM

Mac, you want people to download and use your mod, don’t you? Well, not many people are going to do so when their virus software tells them the file in infected. Would you? Why not go and clean up the file and re-upload it? That way, people will be willing to try your work. Because, unless people try your work, they will never recognize its value and you will not get the credit you deserve.

Every scan I run pops a warning. Given the OP's additude?
I do not trust the .exe's included and wiped the download.

Was waiting for you to show up.

Glad I didn't let you down.
You tell us which virus program will not pop a positive then.
:haha:

The names terryn btw.

So, is it your mod or Machievelli's?

You can't seem to keep your swados straight.

ALL SHOW CLEAN

:har:

None of which are designed to pop on certain types of intrusions.
:nope:

AVG tells me it's bad? It's bad unless I have more information.
Your additude alone tells me it's infected on purpose.

Give me one reason I should trust you. If I buy it? I'll support your claim it's safe.

So Mac, you still have a problem with your mod. Whether you like NAV or not, a lot of people use it. And, if NAV flags your mod as a threat, I’m gonna guess that McAfee will too. NAV covers a lot of computers; NAV and McAfee together cover the vast majority of computers. Most people aren’t going to take a chance on installing software their AV program flags as unsafe, especially these days. (Can you blame them?) So at the moment, your mod can only reach a pretty limited audience. I doubt that is what you wanted when you did all the work of putting it together.

You are a bright guy, and you seem to know the ins and outs of AV software. I’ll bet you could make a version that wouldn’t set off the fire alarms, even if they were falsies. You would be doing yourself, and the community, a favor. How about it?

Jimbuna 10-06-13 11:27 AM

I doubt you'll be getting any reply.

BigWalleye 10-06-13 11:46 AM

My mistake. Thought his machiavelli screen name was still active.

What a waste! Guy wants to contribute, seems to have something to contribute, but can't keep his attitude under control. Hope he does better in R/L.

Works fine thanks
