It worked out for us. The Frau's daughter with epilepsy is able to get medical care on her insurance until she is 26.

Have a nice day. (Disclaimer: I am joking, I'm glad that the Frau's daughter is able to get medical care on her insurance, my wife has her medication on the NHS too, doesn't have to pay a thing for it.) |
No doubt there's a lot of rubbish happening to get the law through, with backsteps and blackmail, like big business lobbies usually act.
Altogether though i think it is a good thing towards a civilised society. "Everyone for himself" will not help most when they are old and cannot work for more money while only having a small rent, and naturally need more medical care at that age. In Europe the money being paid through the lifetime gets interest, so the usual very high medical costs at the end of a lifetime can be paid. For a real sick and/or old person, it is a good thing - old people have paid their share, and younger people with serious problems are backed up by money flowing in a kind of network system. But who am i to come to this thread with reasonable thoughts. [fixed]: Anyone remember free health care in England ? Was before the new economy of course, i bet England was a communist country back then :O: |
So glad that it assisted your situation, Platapus.
But, typical government programs help some while screwing everyone else. Usually the little guys. Our medical care system is what needs fixing. Not the insurance. Diagnostics has become big business for General Electric and they bank big time on the sale of their MRI and CT scanners. As a result, the patient pays through the nose for diagnostics. If the government really wanted to help, they would subsidize these machines so the for profit medical establishment could do the scans for little to no money out of a patients' pocket. As it is now, Obamacare seems more like tyranny and the medical types have become our new masters. Speaking personally, I don't trust the government or doctors any further than I can throw them. |
If there has been any kind of info seminars, I've missed them. Hard to believe with a social entitlement program of this size, there has not been more information. Shouldn't PBS be having indoctrination specials on this? :hmmm:
