Make sure you edited the main.cfg in "...\MyDocuments\SH3\data\cfg" - check if RealTime=1.
This file is a copy from the SH3 installation path and is used for the game itself.
If you change the original source only, the copy will not be updated.

Please post a DxDiag protocol of your computer.
(click Windows START button -> run -> "dxdiag" -> hit Enter key
The DxDiag-screen pops up - cklick through the tabs and check if any problems are mentioned.
There is a button to save the information as a text file.)
Copy the upper part including the 'Sound Devices' section and post it here.

I am having the same problem. How does one edit the file? When I click on it it asks me what program to open it with. Suggestions?
