Touching video to be sure.

As i was watching it though, it occurred to me that not once, in my entire life, have I seen anyone, help an old lady (or old man) across a street. In fact, I am hard pressed to recall being witness to ANY act of kindness from a stranger or good simaritian. Growing up in California, what I do recall seeing though, is people passing by any given scene, and not getting involved. Perhaps out of fear of physical danger, or out of fear of litigation, or simply because they didn't want to be inconvenienced. As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. So, good people are few and far between.

You still haven't met me. When I was homeless I spent a lot of time riding around on the bus and train. I met several people from out of town (or out of country), and always found myself not only telling them how to get where they wanted to go, but actually going with them to make sure they got there alright. The funny part is that I don't consider myself a good person.

I have to disagree. I've seen many people do very good things, and not just in Utah.

I may have got it from my dad, who was one of several motorists who went to the aid of a motorcyclist who took a spill in a busy intersection (in California), but I think the reality is that there as many good people as there are bad. Most of the bad things and most of the good things take place out of our sight, but they are there.

Yeah that :yep:

I had a 4 paragraph response, but canceled it, because rereading it, it turned into a 4 paragraph rant about California. Suffice to say, the culture in Utah is different then in California. I don't have much in the way of kind things to say about that state. But more to the topic my faith in humanity remains at an abysmally low level.

Great video in the original post, but I'm a , "ill believe it when i see it myself" kind of guy on this kind of thing. I've seen far too much bad to think any different.

You know what? I really needed that video today.

Thanks for posting it. :yep:

That was great. Thanks for the laugh!

Sadly, there is a degree of truth to that video.

And so Oberon's "what is good about people" thread slowly drifts into the realm of "what I hate about people". What the happened to you SubSim? You used to be cool.

There's too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go around
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion
