That was the original story. Fabricated, apparently.
Here, allegedly is the real story:

:shifty: Now there is an unbiased article... its all about the "cuts". :shifty:
What do you expect from MPR....

There are no "cuts" - there are reductions in the GROWTH of budgets....
But facts can't be allowed to get in the way, can they, Feuer?

Looks like good place to park midget sub with nuke onboard! :nope:

Synthfg 02-27-13 10:38 AM

Why bother bringing your own nuke
a bit of rewiring on any one of the tea kettles present there and you can make the whole dockside uninhabitable for the next few thousand years

Is that how long it's going to take people to live back in Hiroshima or Nagasaki? :hmm2:

The harbor is public, anyone can boat right by all the ships there. They do keep a net around most of the ships, but almost to the ships. They do have armed guard stations with machine guns at the end of each pier, cameras and no telling what else. However, riding by in a boat, one could easily turn toward the ships and be on them in about 5 secs. I've gotten within 50ft passing by and drew no attention.

From that article:
The USS Bush was not ordered into port for "routine inspections." It had been undergoing tests of its ability to have aircraft, which it does not presently have. Its cruise was canceled because of the sequester.

Why does the USS Bush not have the ability to carry aircraft?
:-?
