the funny thing is, this turkish community organization sees themselves as bridgebuilders.

They seem to have 600 Members, mostly academics, of which nobody had the idea, that this is bloody ridiculous. I guess this whole thing is a badly thought out publicity stunt.

With the many precedences given in the past years where precious hypersensitivity and political correctness obediently played ball when being confronted by Muslim special demands in education, law enforcement, legislation, publicity, they had probably all reason to assume that they again would get what they want: make the infidel home culture once again bowing heads and faling back one step again. A small step, but it is about the high number of small steps backward. We get educated to fall back, one tiny babystep by one tiny babystep, until falling back has become our second nature.

Even with small babysteps the longest journey nevertheless gets completed one day.

P.S. And it works. On German radio this late evening there was a brief comment by a german, and the guy philosophizing there said that there is indeed the need to educate our children with greater care regarding the respectability of foreigners living amongst us, and that this of course should also be reflected in a responsible design of toys and a choice by parents on buying toys only that are not offensive for other cultures. And bla and bla and blablabla.

The method works, Viper. It works bloody damn well.
