I just thought of something. Silent Steel told me that OHII has mods incorporated in it, and it could be that some are installing these mods along with OHII, either before or after it. That was my problem a couple of installs ago and still could be.
What's needed is a list of mods used in OHII that can be posted in a Stickie... or even in Sober's mod thread. Then we'd know what mods not to use if we're running OHII. I believe this could help solve some of the CTD problems we're having. As OHII grows so could the list. Same might be true for CSP Magui. Yes.. No... Maybe ???? |

Sober, I've had that one out using OHII Full 2.0 and the loop antenna didn't rise and turn when surfaced. Nor did it retract when submerged. :confused:

Well, I did run SH5's tutorial campaign lastnight with only OHII Full 2.0 and the antenna did not work at all. That's how I know. This is a new install of SH5 and OHII with no other mods.
I could delete it and rerun the turorial plus get screenshots as proof. ;) |
I thought the FX update mod was the fix for the antenna turning and disappearing when submerged?
- DF Loop will randomly rotate at different speeds and different directions simulating the radio operator searching for signals - DF Loop is now visible underwater. It will hide when the sub's depth is > 13m and will reappear when sub's depth is <= 13m |
The tutorial is just that , a tutorial . Read my how to start a campaign in my mega mod thread . Forget about things working until you start a campaign .

I'm doing how to start a campaign from your instructions. My next question is how do I add mods. Is it ok to start adding them even with OHII in as the first mod and leave it that way? Remember now, I'm not using any of TDW's Uis... as much as I'd like to I've had no luck enabling them. But I do have something from Trevally that should install them without having to do any config changes. I'll see what happens. :rolleyes: |
Here we go. Start of Baltic campaign... very first of new campaign with only OHII Full installed, no other mods.

Volodya, that answers my question. REM is not in OHII as I thought. Tho I think Sober thought it possibly was in OHII, but seeing he uses UIs I don't think he'd see it as I did. And seeing I don't use any Uis, the loop antenna will not work as it should unless R.E.M is installed.
So with this info, if anyone runs OHII Full and doesn't install any Uis the loop antenna will not work. They will need to be install R.E.M_by_Xrundel_TheBeast_1.2 so it does work. I have two files from Trevally that I thought I'd lost. He says they include TDW's Uis and changing CFGs is not neccessary, so I'll try and install them and see what happens. Wosrt that can happen is another reinstall of SH5, and I'm used to that. LOL Gap, in stock SH5 the antenna doesn't work at all. REM is the mod that gets it to raise and rotate while you are surfaced. And when you submerge it retracts into the pocket on the side of the conning tower. Without it working your Uboat looks a bit funny, and you wonder how it's getting any info to you while retracted and you're surfaced. |
