Sorry to hear that.

Windows gives a whole new meaning to 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.'

Windows 7 is the most stable, workable windows ever, if you need it faster upgrade PC bits (mobo/CPU/ram/ssd).

Done further testing at work and still don't like 8, although we are due to get a nice shiny touchscreen monitor to test so my opinion may change then, but only for touchscreen devices.

IMO the best bit about the retail version of 8 is the retro licence for 7.

Hi Kiwi. When I updated to Win 8 pro I had to reinstall SH5 but I was able to use my saved campaign( saved before i deleted the game). I had no problem( I upgraded on 2 computer)with the game at all. I cant remember if it was SH4 or 5 that came up at the end saying that the Nivida driver was out of date. I ignored the error and started the game.
So far I had only 1 problem with window 8 and that was I had to start SH3 in window XP capability mode. I had no ctd with 8. I used win 8 since June with the pre-released version. I prefer it to 7.

I've been told that Windows 9, being worked on now, will be an upgrade of Windows 7. I'll hold out and waih for that, or get a copy of 7 now to run. I'm not crazy about 8 or what I hear and have seen of it.
