I was kinda wondering where you went. :hmm2:
All the best. You are not alone. Lots of people have gone through this. Stay strong 'cause we're all pulling for you. |
I admire your courage to make this post, and I admire your self-awareness for realizing you needed help.
Welcome back. :rock::yeah: |
Welcome back, soopa! :salute:
Likle others already said, your posts haven't been over the top, sometimes quite bold - which is ok, we aren't robots. I'll have my beer now on you and your struggle! This is not meant cynical, as I'm having one now by chance and you will be confronted with alcohol around you all your life. I hope that you will win the fight! Glad to hear you have a cool wife who is by your side, this is worth very much. All my best wishes! And for hell, keep on posting! |
Keep it up...you rough around edges guy....:D

From one of my favourite movies.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xnFjo3Gb0w  18 years alcohol free for me. Best of luck to you. :salute: |
Welcome back. :salute:
I don't recall any rudeness from you but I may have been elsewhere that day. Quite a few non-drinkers here so you're definitely not alone, some will know what you're going through, many won't, but this place is definitely a site for support and advice. A good woman is hard to find, keep her. |

Welcome back. :salute:
I can't say, that I know what you are going through, ´cause I don't. The only experience I have is that two of my uncle and my dad was alcoholic most of they life. The last 10 years of my fathers life was nothing more than drinking, no food whatsoever. My uncles was in and out of several anti-alcohol-programs. Remember once where on of them had a hard time saying no to some old friends that kept on saying "Come on, 1 beer doesn't kill you" Maybe I did wrong cause I raised my voice and said to them " Don't you understand what the word no means" The only thing I'm addicted to, is Cookies and candy Markus |

People need to learn that the person himself/herself makes the choice and until you show them some resistance they keep using you until you're simply abused. If they can't understand that after you told them no, then those are the kind of friends you don't need |
Thanks for the kind words.
I had a great wife, and a stern doctor. An older fella who was 6 months from retiring to Florida and its golf courses diagnosed me with an ulcer. One of them bleeding ones, jeez I am only 34 years old! My old lady was more peeved I kept up with the drinking in spite of the puking blood thing. She's no purist, you can't be living with me.:smug: MH, my old lady calls me rough around the edges. She is amazed I have friends.:haha: (I curse like a sailor IRL, after all I am an Italian-American) Platypus. 18 years. God bless.:salute: |
Good luck, man. I mean it. Getting sober can be a little awkward at first - like you're out of balance. Well, you are out of balance. The rest of the world hasn't changed, you've changed. Give yourself a little time to get the hang of walking around without your crutches. It's a beautiful thing to walk upright and unafraid.
Start walking, friend. Best |
I wish you every success for the future....stay strong and the best of luck.
|
Best of Wishes
