This is not exactly a computer security issue, its the stupid guy on apple support, who did not fully verify the identity of the caller before resetting the password.

I mean, humans are always the weak link, and apple employees should be further trained to resist social engineering attacks.

Why use a software which is able to do this in the first place?
It helps if you lose your computer. Many enterprises have that kind of policy. In fact, I beleive you can do the same thing with Motorola devices (Through moto-blur), Blackberries (through a BES or your blackberry account), and Windows Phones (through your Microsoft account)

I''m surprised to read this, I thought mac security was better than pc, at least every mac user I know has told me this, heh.

I've just gone over to firefox for the first time, brilliant. I stopped using google and changed to duckduckgo as my main homepage, also good. Amazon leaves me cold, even though I have used it in the past. My favorite site is the BBC, simply because they don't have adds everywhere like Amazon who trace every move you make. Ebay does this now as well.

This is a good post and should be a sticky.

It all boils down to the fleshy bits between the chair and the keyboard. :yep:

lol, yes, this is exactly one - IT security is not only about hard- and software; the human factor is quite important in this field.
Other things that come to my mind in this particular case are company policies, regarding data storage, data protection and data access, also important are the data security laws of the countries where the company resides and of those where the servers are located.

ahem, that was a rhetorical question , to point out that this software is a double edged sword, I also I kind of answered myself it in the following sentence. :03:
