I was playing around with similar stuff for a while in SH5 thanks to karamazovnew's awesome tute found here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163118 (part 1 IIRC)

Yeah it's for SH5 I Know, but if you read through it (and even try it) I guaranty you'll get an understanding of how to use the numerical referances to place items on screen.

I'm pretty sure he even explains the diferences between SH3, 4 + 5?
