What are typical American ideologies? Can these ideologies be clearly defined?

Exactly. its the same with the ideals of the nation over here, put a dozen people together and you will get a dozen different ideas of what the ideals are.
The ideology of the nation is when one individual finds another individual he thinks he can agree with on a specific take on a specific version of an interpretation of a vague concept of and from the past....given the size of your population that would mean there would have to be a couple of hundred million different and often contradictory ideologies that are The "American ideology".

This is a great example ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4YgFADhTsM ). This is not what American's do. These aren't American's, these are Mexican nationals living on American soil.

edit:
Another example of lack of integration.

Exactly. Theres a difference between retaining a culture, and openly denouncing any attempt to integrate. Waving mexican flags, openly declaring a war on the American society, making zero attempt to speak the language, and protesting that they can come into the country illegally because they USED to own the land over a hundred years and fifty years ago, and lost to a war they couldve fought tooth and nail for but didnt. I dont care if youre mexican. I do care if they start claiming that parts of my country belong to another and/or if theyve come into this country illegally to do it. This country was founded by immigrants, but the vast majority of those immigrants became legalized citizens. And now those immigrants agree, that this land is our land, and if you want in, you need to go through the system. granted, the system is quite heavily flawed and needs to be lightened, but it still is a law, and should be followed. Most citizens agree that the border needs to be shutdown with unrelenting force, and those coming in must have the proper identification and papers to do so. The Mexicans do the exact same thing, because its the right thing to do. I dont get why we shouldnt do so as well.

"A 2002 Zogby poll reported that 58% of Mexicans believe that the southwestern US belongs to Mexico."

I dont know of any other immigrant group so fiercely denounce our culture after coming here. Arabs, Armenians, Asians, ect. have collectively made an effort to respect the new culture in which they have chosen to live in. The Mexicans, however, have made it clear that they arent exactly content with just living here (illegally AND legally), but to return the land back to mexico while reaping United States benefits of living.

"There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all... The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic... There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else."

- Theodore Roosevelt in speaking to the largely Irish Catholic Knights of Columbus at Carnegie Hall on Columbus Day 1915

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

- Theodore Roosevelt in a letter on January 3, 1919 to the president of the American Defense Society

Using the two quotes Ducimus supplied doesn't it make WASPs an irrelevance, unless of course you are a WASP-American in which case the quotes are having a go at you too
