I recently acquired a 1986 Chrysler Lebaron from my dad in November. I've put about....4,000 miles on it at least, but man, that car is all class, washed and detailed, it would look like it just rolled off the line. It's not falling apart like the other ones I've seen around here.
Which reminds me that I'm due for an oil change.

(EDIT: This is relevant because the car is registered in my name, and I bought and I pay the insurance on it, I buy the gas, and everything else it needs, and never before have I been so happy to be responsible for something!)

@OP: Neat car, I hope you enjoy it.

I could probably barely fit in it though.

Cheers man, amazingly for a 13 year old vehicle this one only has 30,000 on the clock, mechanically it's absolutely perfect

First buy. I was on my Dad's insurance for a little while after I passed my test so I got to drive his old Mazda 6 but I was a bit paranoid about pranging it so i didn't drive it much lol.

Sweet, that yours? Very nice. Haha, it's surprisingly big inside. And no, not a euphemism :O:

How much to get it shipped overseas?

Sorry, I'm not delivering anywhere - you want it, you come and get it. I've sold a Pug 406 on ebay before, three Czech guys living in Germany got the ferry over and took it back with them on the back of a trailer (valves had met pistons!). Bidding finishes in just nine hours, currently going for £143 :yeah:

Me no likey Micras anyway lol

I was dubious about it at first, but I got and the wife got a Ka and now a Fiat Idea (I had to look it up too!), I prefer my Micra - it just goes well, foot down in third is superb for this sort of car - like a go-kart.

There's already been a 'favourite car' thread, but it soon turned into the 'first car' thread. :D

I must admit I have thought about one just for the sheer value of it, cheap car, cheap insurance, good on fuel etc, but I just can't stand the look of them unfortunately lol

I hope your first car brings you as much pleasure as mine did (Ford Escort Estate RKY 905J) :sunny:

Wasn't it said that it would be used off-road?

Funnily enough I ended up having to mount a pavement on my test drive lol. Some idiot came out of a car park right across me on the narrowest road you can imagine and just sat there looking at me as if it was my fault he was in my way, I couldn't back out onto a busy main road... so instead of him just going back into the car park for a few seconds to let me past he proceeded to faff about until I could just about squeeze past on the pavement. Bloody BMW drivers :haha:

Tell me about it. But I usually win those kind of arguments. Having a car worth only EUR 200 gives you an edge when playing chicken against a EUR 20 000 car :DL

And P.S.

Whatever you do, ajrimmer, don't try to drift it around corners. Especially on gravel roads. (Been there, done that, went into the ditch):oops:
