While trench warfare would be rather dull, the naval actions of WWI would be interesting.

What about a simulator where you played the Captain of the SMS Emden (the one built in 1908. :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Would be challenging to match the career of Müller :salute:

Great idea! I've read a couple of books on the Emden and its exploits. Very interesting story behind that ship and crew. You could probably make a 100% factually-accurate movie about their last cruise and most people wouldn't believe it. They'd probably think it was more over-the-top, Hollywood fantasy crap... but it would be all true.

There is a WWI sub sim PC game.
 
It is very small and for DOS on 286 PC. :-)

I think you are right.

I think a game with the Emden could be really fun if they could incorporate the role playing aspect -- do you take the risk and operate honourably or do you take the attitude that there is no such thing as a fair fight in war?

I think just the logistics of commanding a coal burning commerce raider would be very interesting.
