AHH!! .. If I had just clicked that link! ... thanks for pointing me in the right direction .... I just watched the Natl. Geo special on the Bismark, and in one night I went from SHIII to SHV (and replaced all sound files with the old Das Boot sound files, and added some new sound mods) ... So far it's AMAZING .... once I turned off the edge glow and bubbles, and got rid of Bloom effects, it really smoothed it out and feels more realistic.

Now I'll read how to add fan made scenerios and grab Battle of the Denmark Strait. 1st! Thanks again! - Darrin

Glad to help. There are two dedicated DBSMs just for SH5. They weren't done by me, though, so how good can they be? :O:

Just kidding of course. My computer doesn't run SH5 too well, but I've read a lot of good things about both of them.

Mine didn't either until I turned off bloom ... now I can crank the graphics and it's smooth. You should try it. Look for Lights.cfg and inside it set any reference to bloom to zero .... that should help a lot!

You don't understand. My computer is a single-core dinosaur built in 1995. It won't even run SH3 if I add too many mods. I'm still waiting until I can get the entire new rig I need.

oh .... I would ship you my old dual core, but it wouldn't be much better .... I have quad core 6700 with 12 gig of ram and nVidia GT 8800 pro .... slightly older stuff, and SH5 WAS chunky, but now it's so smooth .... had I not spent the hours last night tweaking it, I was on my way back to SHIII .. but I'll give this a whirl for a bit .. I hope you can get a better gat a machine soon! . now on to figure out how to do a manual install of fan made missions! .... EASY to place all the right files in the right folders ... guess I'm ready to go after the Hood now! .. and ANY other fan made mission! . . do you know of a mod that turns the ocean into a busy place? Shipping routes populated? I would love to simply explore areas like Halifax NS and just hap upon a string of cargo ships heading east ... without having to start up a mission? or is that campaign mode? I see there is plenty to choose from in the fan made missions .... http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3222 looks like it will add some to the campaign!

I remember reading about this years ago, I do believe the Allies sank 3 uboats during the DDay landings. But it would make a great mission, the survival factor alone makes one pout below.
