And I had no grammophone or radio on, as I don't like music while playing. Very strange incident.

Thats not deep enough. For a passing destroyer, you should be ok. For a sub hunter, its just not deep enough. The sub is rated for 100m (330 Ft), and if your undamaged(hull), crew at battlestations, you can squeeze 360ft out of her without worries of crushing.

Use your decoys if you're detected, it can buy you some time until you can change your heading to throw off the subchasers. Point being, you need to come to periscope depth if a subchaser is near or closing, and sink his ass first!

Then I may be in trouble for as I just told Rockin Robbins I'm setting on the bottom ( Actually 5 ft. from bottom ) in 175 ft. waters waiting for dark to go another 48 NM to photograph some enemy ships at Singapore. As you can see here in pic this is the deepest waters all the way to Singapore and where I'm supposed to take pics is in waters about 70/80 ft deep.
There are two DD's patrolling less than 10,000 yds from me right now.

If those DD's come toward me right now maybe the guys and me better start holding Chapel Service. :wah:

OK RR I'll be still on the bottom waiting for your report cause in real life I've gotta go somewhere tonight and no computer playing till tomorrow. And that was ORDERS from my HQ. ( sometimes she can get downright mean  )

No beans for grub tonight!

Well I'm out here in the slot on the right night and five of the Tokyo Express commenced to chargin' by my position. So I saved the game and decided it was playtime. They were going to pass too far away to put any torpedoes in their direction and at 30 knots too! What to do? What to do?

Surfaced, manned the deck gun and lobbed a couple shells at the first DD in line. Yup, that did the trick all right. Had more shells coming my way at once than I could deal with so I pulled the plug kinda quick like. No shell hits but now I have 5 DDs charging down on me at 30 knots. I'm clawing for depth and headed right at them. We'll see how that works out.

You know, this could be a good test for the gramophone to see if they can hear it. The whole ocean erupts in one simultaneous explosion and I have a blown bulkhead and some inconsequential sonar damage. Flooding in the forward torpedo room. Well. stealth is useless now, BATTLESTATIONS, everybody on repair detail.

I leveled off at about 120' to see if the flooding could be stopped. Checked the repair screen and flooding was under control but not gone. Hung around until the bulkhead was repaired and went deep. Flooding was fixed and I went to silent running as the depth charges fell a bit further away. Okay! It's test time!

Turn on the gramophone! Turn that thing up! Let's see if the Japs like good music. Did the external view and indeed they seem to be headed my direction, Yes here comes on right by on my right and he........tosses the depth charges out his left side, away from me.:har: Cool, what's the one in back of him going to do. He turns to port, clearing my area. The other three are circling at a distance.

Doesn't seem as if they are listening to the music. PERISCOPE DEPTH!!! (Now I lay me down to sleep.....) Pop up the observation scope from a depth of 48' (it doesn't clear the surface at periscope depth in TMO) and take a looksee. Hey guys! I'm playing some great music! Listen! They've all throttled back and circling around blindly. They stopped pinging

What's a guy gotta do around here to get some love? I have some great funeral death metal (Ahab, Call of the Wretched Sea) but can't get the darned CD to play on the gramophone so you'll have to listen to this Glenn Miller! Heck, they're tone deaf. No reaction at all from the gramophone. Let's make some noise!

Ahead emergency! Oops, maybe not a good idea, two immediately turn toward. Normal dive to 200'. Passed thermal barrier, turned 90º and cut the power to 1/3, hitting silent running, all with the gramophone on. They were fully alerted and knew where I was. Dropped inaccurately. But now they don't have a clue. They're all throttled back and circling again.

Oh well, let's use this as a test for Jing, my new screenshot tool that is supposed to be able to record 5 minutes of video. We'll record some surface action with our five friends, gramophone playing and let people see for themselves. Jing is taking a long time to load its alleged video. Hope it will be worth it... http://screencast.com/t/bwdakB2G

This one's busted folks! I tried hard. I rustled up five of Japan's finest and they didn't care for Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, didn't matter. They couldn't seem to hear it. Lalalalalalalalalalala 17.3 of 65 MB uploaded. I'll come back and update the link to the video.

A request. I hate to get on your case again, but we would prefer it if you'd not quote pictures to make a comment, unless there are several posts between. Bandwidth costs money, and all that.

Well, that Jing video isn't anything that makes their product look good, is it?:rotfl2:

Anybody else run any tests on the "killer gramophone?"
