What do you mean? the IXB comes before the VIIC.
Oct/Nov 1939 if I remember correctly.

type VII! the type IXB doesn't have the awesome interior's mod yet. after coming back to SH3 and trying that mod, I can't imagine playing without it. so looks like a type VII for me until they release the IX version. :rock:

Tried the mod, but how awesome it maybe, it doesn't add anything for me.

Oops, my mistake. Not even the C, just the VIIB for me. (I haven't played in a while)

In GWX (Table 14 of the GWX manual) it's available from Dec 1940 at Lorient. Although Table 15 immediately below says '39.

I always start from Wilhelmshaven on a VIIB, and transfer to Lorient but I usually spend my renown on other things. And die. Or surrender. :arrgh!:

What do you use the renown for then? Crew?

truth be told, I like the type VIIB as well. if anything I will upgrade to a VIIC/41 or something. but I always keep my VIIB as long as I can.:yeah:

I currently have three careers going, all in September 1939. One in a Type II from 1st Flotilla, Kiel, one in a Type IX, 2nd Flotilla, Wilhelmshave, and the third in a Type VII, 7th Flotilla, Kiel. Best of all worlds.
