There is, and has been for a long time a general feeling that the world thinks the US is the biggest and the best and, dare I say it the baddest in all things global. But what about addressing inside issues, or closer to home addressing of the problems currently crippling this great nation? Why is it that when (and yes, one of your own) addresses quiet fundamental reasons for the outbreak of riots, or violence. The points raised can all be a trigger. Combine them all, and you magnify that outcome by a lot. I think the article addresses perhaps nothing new, in the way that it doesn't post anything groundbreaking that we didn't already know. But to say it's bashing yourself (because the poster is American) is a case of the Emu with it's head in the sand maybe? Is it denial? I don't know. It seems to me, and I can speak for myself as well, that if our countries are addressed in articles we get defensive and I can attest to that too. I am not immune to that. However, does that attitude then not back up the point about denial even more then? I think that's something worth considering. Thinking that everything is a-ok and that it's just another bashing article of A nation is playing into the hands of the whole point of this article. EDIT: Just read your reply further down, no probs mate, I didn't really think you were implying i was bashing here. Phew! And the above, addressing you is not a attack on you. Take it as a generalised way to invite discussion. regards. |
Awakening
Found an interesting youtube video on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzEeq...rzU7QI&index=3 If you believe everything in it you're stupid, if you believe nothing in it you're no where near awakening. Awakening is a process that begins and ends inside an individual. It is walked by the realization of freewill and exercising the power of choosing and choosing what is right consistently. It involves expanding your consciousness(instead it being restricted to locality). It means to be a better man. It's not about revolution, it is about evolution that starts in individual and hopefully ends with the whole society. That said however http://www.myspacefunstuff.com/graph...es/funny19.jpg |

No tea party member I know would subscribe to the very first point in this article. We all, regardless of social/political stripe, have a tendancy to believe in "american exceptionalism" which the first point of the article decries as arrogance. |

Well it is understood among at least 95% of Americans that not everything is alright.
This guy puts Americans into three catagories: The arrogant, the blind, ... and himself. This is stereotypical beyond imagination. Does he not think that all the people getting laid off EVERYDAY feel the burn? I wouldn't call the people stupid whose houses have recently been foreclosed on because they don't have the money to pay their double morgage. What this guy has written, IMHO, is arrogant. With nearly 10% of Americans unemployed, (must be the same 10% dependent on drugs right) I seriously doubt ANY of us think that everything is alright. Just because no one is running around like a headless chicken yet does not mean that we are in denial. It's guys like this that make me most frustrated. |

Anyway, besides the article and the jokes I posted. I strongly believe their will be more frequent rioting in American.

Whoever wrote that article is a troll. As you read it you can just feel the authors desire for it to happen. |
Seems the site is down now. :hmmm:

Just a matter of when it happens. Then a matter of why it happened at all. History shows us again and again that this is going to happen! Thankfully I don't live in the Big Cities where it will happen. All I'll need to do is watch for the City Dwellers who think they can raid the countryside. :haha: Tain't no Coppers round this here parts to protect trouble makers! :03: |
