Yeah its crazy and hilarious at same time.Video says the crazy ones would just cruise right under a merchant while the escorts were going crazy top side. Then when the craziness slowed down they would slowly drift away.CRAZY!!:har:

This is great! Thanks! I am reading the Book right now! Interesting to see the information backed up in the videos. Tactics wise it is another boon for players.

Nothing too educational here but some pretty decent UBoat footage nonetheless, and some of the explosions are awesome.
Try and ignore the bloody music,or simply 'mute' it.I hate why people have to include music all the time on youtube!.

Enjoy.

And...another one for you all,a nice 5 part documentary :03:

Some of the material may have also been seen in parts of the first video I uploaded,so,sorry about that.
I would also love to get hold of the music that kicks in for the section on Operation Drumbeat in part 5,this would be amazingly rousing as you are moving in to engage a convoy or other important target,so if anyone knows this music please let me know.
Thanks.

I believe that last one is "U-Boat War", which was a three-part documentary put out a few years ago. It is, in my opinion, one of the best documentaries out there and includes interviews with Erich Topp, Otto Kretchmer, and Reinhard Hardegen, Herbert Werner (author of Iron Coffins), and Michael Gannon (author of Operation Drumbeat).

Does anyone know the source of the Battle of the Atlantic YouTube videos and/or the color U-boat videos? I'd like to buy the DVDs if available.

Thanks!

Thank you very much! I have the Grey Wolves set, U-Boat War, and just ordered the BBC Battle of the Atlantic.

I didn't care for the Grey Wolves, as I thought it was rather disorganized. U-Boat war was fantastic and I highly recommend it. I suspect the Military Channel was broadcasting the BBC documentary, which are typically quite good.

Hope you find something to gnash on in the link I posted :arrgh!:

Cheers.
