The method I use is to set all the renown values for upgrades and personnel in the basic config file to zero. I do not change the time available however. When I get an upgrade, I allow three months in port to install.
I then use renown to track my progress in the war.
I think this is the way that the NYGM mod does it, and I feel it is more realistic.

I presently have 768 renown, and need 2500 for the VII,this obviously is a total of 3200 rounded up.How would I input this in the .cfg file, would it be:

3200.000000 <--- I notice there are 6 decimal places after the decimal point.

Also,I have completed 2 patrols so naturally I would edit the patrol 2 files? ;)

Thanks a lot :yep:

So how does one edit the starting renown when one is ready to start a new campaign for SH4 U-Boat Missions? Be advised as I do not want to change the renown value per tonnage in-game, I just want a super high starting renown. I tried changing the starting renown in CareerStart.upc, but it will not open with Notepad! Not that I know what I'm doing.
