Work has a conveyor belt toaster, there are two settings, speed of the conveyor belt and the heat of the elements. In reality though there are three settings.

Setting one:

If the toast comes out smoking a little that means it's done. Generally speaking, the best toast is toast that is scorched to somewhere between "Yummy" and "Smoldering". As long as it's not burnt all the way to the middle it's fine. And a healthy-sized blob of margarine takes some of the edge off that pronounced charcoal taste. :yep:

However, I will never, ever do such a thing to crumpets or english muffins. Due to their delicate nature they require a more refined toasting than ordinary bread. Yes, I am snobbish like that. :hmph::O:

Now your talking...grill your crumpet till it starts to turn a golden colour then stick a cheese slice on top and grill for ten more seconds...SCRUMPTIOUS!!
